Sanctuary Cove · gated waterfront community

Pool fencing in Sanctuary Cove.

Sanctuary Cove is one of the highest-spec gated communities on the Gold Coast — canal-frontage marina-side blocks, premium architectural homes. Pool fences here are almost always frameless 12mm toughened glass with 316 stainless spigot fixings, preserving the canal / marina view.

The Sanctuary Cove pool fencing story.

Estate covenants + community management approval.

Sanctuary Cove has Estate Covenants that mandate certain aesthetic standards including pool fencing materials and design. The Sanctuary Cove Community Management Association reviews proposed fencing drawings before installation. Aluminium tube fencing is generally NOT approved for street-facing pools. Frameless glass with discreet 316 spigot fixings is the universal answer. We lodge SCCMA approvals as part of the project.

View-preserving design language.

Canal-frontage blocks at Sanctuary Cove have a primary view axis from the house outdoor living through the pool to the canal. The fence must comply with QDC MP 3.4 AND preserve the view. Solutions: frameless glass with widely-spaced spigots (most common), fully-embedded glass channel (premium look, no visible fixings — glass slots into a stainless channel set into the paving), or knife-edge water feature acting as the “fence” (where the pool itself extends to the property line with a 1200mm drop). All three solutions need architect coordination from project start.

Travertine / natural-stone integration.

Sanctuary Cove pool surrounds are mostly travertine or natural stone paving. Spigot fixings need to penetrate through the paver and into structurally-sound concrete substrate below — not into the paver alone (which would fail compliance and could crack the stone). We core-drill 30-40mm holes through pavers, epoxy-anchor 316 stainless spigots into 100mm+ concrete pad below.

Typical Sanctuary Cove jobs.

  • Channel-glass premium install (no visible spigots) ($24K–$36K)
  • Pre-sale Form 23 compliance audit + remediation ($2K–$8K)
  • Knife-edge water-feature design coordination with architect
  • Estate-covenant compliance + SCCMA approval lodgement
